On Tuesday, August 4, 2022, Catholic schools in Laredo gathered for an all-morning “School Safety Update Training” provided by the Laredo Police Department. Officers Walter Gonzalez and Carlos Hernandez, who have 43 years of experience combined, presented.

“The safety of our students, teachers and staff is our first priority,” said Dr. Guadalupe Perez, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Laredo. She continued, “We are taking measures to ensure that each of our schools provides an even safer learning environment for our students.”

The Eagle Pass Police Department provided training for Our Lady of Refuge, the parochial school in Eagle Pass, on Monday, August 1, 2022.
