Open House at St. Augustine Elementary, Middle school

St. Augustine Elementary and Middle schools invite the public to an open house in February at the close of Catholic Schools Week

The Open House will take place Feb. 2, 2018 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

MISSION

St. Augustine Elementary/Middle school develops the whole person, promotes Gospel values, inspires a love of learning, and upholds academic excellence in a nurturing community. 

ACADEMICS

St. Augustine/Middle School is accredited with the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department and AdvanceED.  In addition to daily academic lessons, St. Augustine students participate in the following academic programs throughout the year: 

  • Renaissance Learning- Renaissance Learning offers St. Augustine several research-based assessments that are grade appropriate. We use Accelerated Reader which include skill-based question items that compare achievement to state standards and report growth over time. All test are computer based and adjust in difficulty based on each student. 
  • Achieve 3000-Achieve helps prepare our students for high-stakes assessments such as their college entrance exams and builds their cross-curriculum skills for college and career readiness. 
  • IOWA-The IOWA tests assess content areas that help determine mastery of students' core learning standards.
  • PSAT- This exam is offered to all 8th grade students. The PSAT test is used to boost their mastery and is a preliminary exam for the SAT.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities- Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Jr. Knight Dazzlers (Elem.), Silver Knight Dance Squad (Middle School), Robotics (Middle School), Student Council, Honor Society, Courtesy Club, choir, Music, Art Club, Big Knight and Little Knight. 

Faith Formation: Our Catholic identity is prevalent as Christ is part of all subjects and activities.

-Sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and First Communion
